First boat trip of the year

Image
We had to go to NY to get the boat ready to put in the water. It was such a beautiful day I got excited for the year ahead. It's hard to imagine that this is part of New York City, right? ps, that boat underwater is NOT our boat. I thought it looked interesting though.

Let's try this recipe tonight

http://www.goodcheapeats.com/2009/07/cherry-limeade-muffins.html This sounds really good. We can make it and have it ready for the crew coming in on Friday, namely Ed, Anna & Matty. Wouldn't Matty like a good banana pudding too? Joel loves that mess. Help me think up a grocery list for food to have on hand for them. Is it really Wednesday already? Where is the time going?

Waiting . . .

It is 8:30 and we are waiting on Joy & Jayne to come in from Pittsburgh. Right now we are playing with Mom's new laptop trying to make sure it is operational. Mom has had some issues with it and I'm trying to ensure she does not have any more. Logan asked me to try to post something because he was having issues trying to post something. Waiting is not fun but knowing what is around the corner is more than enough of a motivation!

Matty's friend Santiago

Matty's lucky that his friend Santiago's mom is willing to drive him over to hang out. Don't they look like besties? It's because Santiago thinks matty is hilarious.

Dinner & Music @ Jayne&Matty's

Jayne & Matty take their entertaining seriously. Look at Jayney homemaker's styley apron. Tres chic. Matty even provides after dinner entertainment...

Matty's Garden is coming up, and I can't Wait!

New Shoes

Remember how I told you I found some shoes at Steinmart and how cute they were? Check them out! They are Chinese Laundry.

Random Pics in the Life of the Smiths

Leia stretching out on the floor. Joel and Mom hanging out. Leia sleeping with one eye open. Her tail is covering the other eye. A boy and his dog. Yes, that dog is on the sofa. Joel started it and now the boys continue the tradition.

#1 Don't know if you all saw this story. A very good friend of mine forwarded this to me and it is so worth sharing. The attachment doesn't work but if you cut & paste the link it works great. The Troxell's were cheering Phil on and I cried when he won and was able to celebrate more than one victory with his wife and family that day. :) http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/news/story?id=5077009 #2 Whoops - here's the link: http://www.vocalpoint.com/secretsofthemountain/trailer.html On Tue, Apr 13, 2010 at 3:43 PM, Maria S wrote: Hey - check this out. It looks similar to The Spiderwick Chronicles movie. Don't know if this is your cup of tea but I'll probably tape it to watch with the boys. Thought I'd share with you. PhoenixTrip:Sagauro National Park

Image
This is still the same day of the "White Dove of the Desert" and "Patagonia" Scenic Highway. We had a very long day. We got to Sagauro National Park right before sunset after a pretty cloudy (especially for AZ) and cool day. We got the best light of the day when the sun got below the clouds as it was setting. I started learning about light and why Rieker doesn't like to take pictures in "dead" light. You can tell the difference in the pictures below. Until the sun hit below the clouds, the background was pretty grey. The pictures are mixed up timewise, but hopefully you can tell which ones are the "sunset" pictures.
