Coney Island NY

Coney Island is the home of the famous Nathan's Hot dog eating contest. It's a colorful boardwalk on the beach. Rieker said it used to be way more dangerous, but it's been really cleaned up these past few years.

Except for Cha Cha's Bar & Cafe which is right next to "Shoot the Freak". There's a real locals air at Cha Cha's. I kind of wanted to hang out there for a bit, but the shirtless Russians were a little intimidating. And they were drinking at 2 in the afternoon during a weekday as well.
Whenever I'm at Coney Island, which is pretty much anytime we're in Brooklyn and Rieker wants a hotdog, I can't help but hear Mariah Carey's "Sweet Sweet Fantasy" song like a soundtrack in my mind. Expecially when I see the Wonder Wheel. It makes me extra happy.
I would like to go the the New York Aquarium one day this year. It looks like a real attraction.
First  beach contact of the year. Later on, it will be wall to wall people on the broken bottle strewn beach.
The view of the Wonder Wheel from the beach is pretty cool.

    i am so glad you are taking your own pictures joy. you have a real floating eye for er, i mean eye for it. i also like the commentary you provide. coney island looks really kitschy and kool. where else can you get a cold clam beer ice cream? sounds great! (picture me with a wink and two thumbs up.)

    it's hard to edit my photos ats. i want to show you guys so much. i'm trying to read my camera manual now so you can see more detailin the pics. the info is hard and boring for me though. yawn...must plow through....mom said you took a bunch of pics at jon jons party. can't wait to see. xo

Quinoa Pilaf 2 Tablespoons olive oil 1/2 onion, chopped or 1 shallot, finely chopped 2 cups quinoa 4 cups chicken broth 1 teaspoon parsley flakes In large fry pan with a lid, heat the oil over medium heat. Wedding Soup Recipe

Here's Aunt Mary's Wedding Soup recipe that was so delicious! WEDDING SOUP 2 boneless chicken breasts 2 large cans college inn chicken broth 1 pkg. chopped spinach (thawed & drained) 3 cups water 1 carrot 2 eggs 1/3 cup parmesan cheese Bring water boil; add chicken. Grate carrot into boiling water. After 10-15 minutes remove chicken. Cool, then dice. Add College Inn broth; bring to a boil and reduce heat. Beat 2 eggs, add Parmesan cheese to eggs and blend. Drop egg mixture into broth, stirring through with fork. Add drained spinach, meatballs, diced chicken. Simmer for 15 minutes Of course you can make your own chicken stock, but I just used the canned broth but I did use the lowfat, low sodium one. Also, the drier you get the spinach the less green the soup broth gets. MEATBALLS 1/2 lb. ground beef 1/2 cup italian bread crumbs 1 egg (blend above and roll into dime size meatballs) I cooked my meatballs before putting them into soup

Chicken Carbonara Alfredo with Broccoli

I roasted a whole chicken a few nights ago. I stuffed a couple of lemons and garlic cloves up it's bum and rubbed it with poultry seasoning. I made giblet gravy with the giblits, liver and a few hard boiled eggs too. The gravy was my favorite part. I shredded the leftover chicken tonite and used the creamy alfredo sauce packet that was in my cabinet. I threw in some bacon crumbles I keep in my freezer and some sliced mushrooms from Trader Joe's. I boiled some broccoli florets (on sale @ giant eagle) in the same sauce pan I later threw in some angel hair pasta. Dinner was made in less than 15 minutes!!! and cheap. So cheap.
