Thank God I survived taco night
Rieker, our official taco guy ran late for dinner, so, I tried to make them without him. I didn't think you had to "read" directions to heat taco shells in the toaster oven, so I put the shells in the oven like we toast our bread, without a tray.
I look over and I see flames inside the oven! I run over, open the door, and flames coming shooting out of the oven, licking over the top shelf, dangerously close to my stand mixer.
i freakin' freaked! The only thing I remembered is that you do NOT use water to put out the fire, and that's all. I closed the toaster oven door, hoping I wouldn't have to break out the fire extinguisher. I started yelling for tommy who wanted to watch the steeler game with us. He came in opening doors and windows and fanning out the smoke. I unplugged the toaster oven, and I think the taco shells just burned out in the oven, smoking us out of the house.
Wow! who knew tacos could be so dangerous?
