The Pirate Game

Jayne & Matty were awesome enough to invite us to a Pirate game, clubhouse seats. All the seats are pretty good at the stadium, the clubhouse just feels extra "special" though. Maybe because you ride a private elevator up with attendants that press the floor buttons for you. We parked downtown and walked over the Roberto Clemente Bridge to meet them. During Pirate games, they open the bridge to pedestrian traffic ONLY and it feels like a big party walking to and from the game.
You can take a water taxi which has a full bar on it, but it's not that much more fun than walking over the bridge. There are vendors and street musicians on the bridge. See if you can find the saxophone man. He's always there during game days.
The clubhouse has a few bars and pool tables in the area. And, they sell food that is not offered anywhere else at the stadium. We didn't know what to eat first. We started off with italian sausage sandwiches and kielbassa sandwiches, left the clubhouse to get
Quaker Steak & Lube wings, then Matty topped us off with ice-cream served out of cute little plastic Pirate hats. It almost offers too much fun to actually watch the game. We were busy eating, drinking, looking at Pirate memorabilia and watching the Pens play hockey on tv.

You have to watch the game though, if only for the view of the city.
The clubhouse, I don't know the difference from watching the game from home. Why did they bother? I guess because they can be cool like this.
But, I'd rather be cool like this.
