New Blogs I am Following

Hey, check out these blogs. They are doing that thing Meagan did with the Freezer cooking to make your own convenience meals. I don't know if you are interested but with me and the boys and all our "activities" at the moment I have days where the last thing I want to do is cook. Having a mac n' cheese or lasagna in the freezer ready to thaw at a moment's notice sounds very appealing. I've already tried to double up at times when I cook some faves (spaghetti sauce, lasagna, etc.) but to actively plan to do it just sounds like a good concept. The bulk pkg meat or leftover meats would not go to waste if I did more of this. I also have been freezing some of the fruits & veggies I know I can freeze if they are a good price. (Bell peppers, blueberries, strawberries, bananas, etc. things I know will freeze well.) Check out their FB event for Freezer cooking.

I am hooked and spend hours just browsing all the stuff they are doing. It's really sad to see how much I spend on groceries and how much goes to waste because it spoils. I really got excited because they have recipes to use in the bread machine. You can throw the ingredients in and make dough for cinnamon rolls, pizza dough, dinner rolls. All sorts of things. How great! I'm a little excited as you can tell. The thought of using another kitchen appliance makes me happy since it makes me look like I know what I am doing.

  1. Sorry I didn't comment earlier. I really wanted to read this and wanted to give it the time that it deserved. Thank you for this. Rieker likes when we eat at home, he always says things like "we saved $30.00 by eating at home tonight" depending on what we make....Considering we cook better than most of the cheaper restaurants, I do want to cook more at home, I'm just trying to figure out how not to waste money on stuff we don't eat, like some canned soups, stuffings, etc...that are just wasting space in the cabinets. I have to use it or lose it, right????
