Under Pressure
After many days of pressure from my loving sister, I have succumbed and used the wonderful pressure cooker. I need a little work as the cookbook said to keep it on high until the pressure built - the bottom of my chicken and rice was burned (tutong). All the boys (Joel included) said they liked it and it was good. Joel said it had a different flavor (I couldn't tell him that flavor was burned) but he liked it. My wonderful husband trying to encourage. I think I'll try potatoes tomorrow. That's the one that takes a long time. Wish me luck!
I was so happy and excited to see your pictures ate!I hope you had fun using it. I can't figure out the burned chicken and rice thing. Did you move the pot to a cool spot when the timer was done? because you have the stovetop you have? did you do quick release vs natural release? What kind of potato dish are you making?
ReplyDeleteI moved it to a low heat spot after the pressure (per the recipe instruction) and did a natural release. I will have to play with the recipe a little to figure it out. Not sure yet what type of potato dish. Any recommendations? Mashed potatoes are usually a big hit at our house.
ReplyDeletemashed potatoes are easy! just three minutes under pressure and quick release. have the boys peel the potatoes, then quarter them. i usually pot some half and half or sour cream in when i mash them. yummo!
