Question for y'all . What's the song that brings out the most emotion for you? Maybe Empire State of Mine by Jay-Z because it reminds you of the best week of your life? Bowl of Oranges by Bright Eyes because it sums up what you want in life, and reminds you there are up and downs, but to put things in perspective? Audrey Hepburn's Moon River because it reminds you of that time after The Killers played that you and your friends stayed in the stadium after everyone left, and just felt the energy of that night? Or Signs by Five Man Electrical Band because it reminds you of your childhood?

Did you guys start packing away your Christmas stuff yet? I have, but s-l-o-w-l-y. I'm having to use the timer to make myself do it. There it goes now, back to work :)

    songs that bring back lots of memories for me:
    -Queen's The Game, entire album reminds me of my 1st boyfrnd, Mark who used to play this on his 8-track everytime he drove us anywhere.
    -Undercover Angel, anything by Stylistics, Dec.1963 all remind me of our childhood when we would listen to these songs as Dad drove to wherever we were going next.
    -Missing You by John Waite and Level 42's Something about you reminds me of when Joel was away in Gainesville.
    -Into the Groove (Madonna) and Fresh (Kool & the Gang) Confetti's staples when I would go dancing with Merly & co.
    i know there are more songs that bring out lots of memories for me but i don't think of them until i hear them. it's funny but rodney told me (gabrielle confirmed) that he had been looking for Glenn Garrett music. I've got it on my ipod. remember him?

    Oh and my Christmas tree and nativity scene is still out along with everything on my mantle. it's hard to put it away it's so pretty! i too am going very s-l-o-w-l-y!

    i'm still trying to get the gumption to put my decorations away - i started by taking the garland off my staircase then got tired. i'll try again tomorrow. i have to stop staying up reading my books - i'm useless during the days

    they got it from all of us. they have a very eclectic taste in music. they like ac/dc (joel and rock band influence) beatles (your influence -- remember the yellow submarine movie?) 70's and 80's from me and joel of course and rap from joel's channel surfing. they also love my christian "rock" which rocks! Matthew West and Toby Mac my all time faves.

Chicken Carbonara Alfredo with Broccoli

I roasted a whole chicken a few nights ago. I stuffed a couple of lemons and garlic cloves up it's bum and rubbed it with poultry seasoning. I made giblet gravy with the giblits, liver and a few hard boiled eggs too. The gravy was my favorite part. I shredded the leftover chicken tonite and used the creamy alfredo sauce packet that was in my cabinet. I threw in some bacon crumbles I keep in my freezer and some sliced mushrooms from Trader Joe's. I boiled some broccoli florets (on sale @ giant eagle) in the same sauce pan I later threw in some angel hair pasta. Dinner was made in less than 15 minutes!!! and cheap. So cheap.

Quinoa Pilaf

Quinoa Pilaf 2 Tablespoons olive oil 1/2 onion, chopped or 1 shallot, finely chopped 2 cups quinoa 4 cups chicken broth 1 teaspoon parsley flakes In large fry pan with a lid, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the onion and quinoa. Saute until the quinoa starts to brown and the onion becomes clear. Add chicken broth and parsley flakes and bring to a slight boil. Cover and reduce heat. Cook for 12 minutes, covered, until liquid is absorbed. Fluff with a fork, recover and allow to steam for another 10 – 15 minutes. Season with salt and pepper, and serve. Wedding Soup Recipe

Here's Aunt Mary's Wedding Soup recipe that was so delicious! WEDDING SOUP 2 boneless chicken breasts 2 large cans college inn chicken broth 1 pkg. chopped spinach (thawed & drained) 3 cups water 1 carrot 2 eggs 1/3 cup parmesan cheese Bring water boil; add chicken. Grate carrot into boiling water. After 10-15 minutes remove chicken. Cool, then dice. Add College Inn broth; bring to a boil and reduce heat. Beat 2 eggs, add Parmesan cheese to eggs and blend. Drop egg mixture into broth, stirring through with fork. Add drained spinach, meatballs, diced chicken. Simmer for 15 minutes Of course you can make your own chicken stock, but I just used the canned broth but I did use the lowfat, low sodium one. Also, the drier you get the spinach the less green the soup broth gets. MEATBALLS 1/2 lb. ground beef 1/2 cup italian bread crumbs 1 egg (blend above and roll into dime size meatballs) I cooked my meatballs before putting them into soup
